Interview   with   Holly, Vocalist of Bloodstrike, done by Patrick

1.Hello  Holly  how  are  things  going  with you  and  the  band  these days?

Great. Our first full-length “In death We Rot” has been out for a few months and we are getting killer reviews, playing lots of shows, and even working on new stuff.

2.When  did you  first  meet  the  other  members  of  BloodStrike?  How  did you  all decide  on  the  name  BloodStrike ?

We started jamming in 2013 and most of us were already friends. We connected with our drummer, Ryan, through craigslist.org. By January of 2014 we were a solid 5-piece! Bloodstrike is: Holly Wedel – vocals. Jeff Alexis – guitars.  Joe Piker – guitars. Rhiannon Wisniewski – bass. Ryan Alexander Bloom – drums. Bloodstrike is our name because it sounds metal, is easy to remember, and isn’t too long!

3.BloodStrike has  just  released   their  debut   cd  "In Death We Rot"    how  long  did  it  take  the  band  to  write  and  record  the  songs  for  this  release?

We’ve been working on the writing process for about a year, and recording was about 3 months. We are lucky to have our guitarist be able to record us – shameless promotion for Firestorm Studios!

4.Besides  the  debut  cd  "In Death We Rot"  does the  band   have  any  other  merchandise  available  for  the  readers? If  yes  where can  the  fans  buy  it?

We have a couple of different shirt designs, stickers, embroidered patches, and cds in jewel cases AND digipak.  We will be getting our full-length vinyl albums at the end of Feb (in standard black and also a limited edition red record). We are going to be making shot glasses soon too. For merch, please contact us through our facebook site www.facebook.com/bloodstrikemetal or through our bandcamp page, https://bloodstrike.bandcamp.com/

5.Does    BloodStrike    have  any tours  or  shows  coming  up  that the  fans should  watch  out  for  this  year  or  early  2016?

We are working with promoters now to determine what festivals we can play in 2016, and we will work to build a small tour around the festivals once we are confirmed. We hope to know more in the next couple of months.

6. What   have  been  some  of    BloodStrike's   most  memorable  shows  to  date?

Our Halloween show was pretty amazing – we all dressed up as members of the Addams family, which people loved. We also had our own Bloodstrike Red Ale up at Black Sky Brewery on tap for that show!

7.Holly,  you   handle  the  vocals  for the   band,  when  did you become  interested  in  growling/singing? Do   you   do  anything  special  to  keep  your  throat and  voice  healthy?

A very long time ago- since high school! I drink a LOT of tea and do a lot of vocal exercises before practice and shows.

8. What does  underground  metal  mean  to you?

Anything brutal, heavy, and sick. Carnage

9. Besides   old-school death  metal  do you   listen to  any other  metal styles?  What about non-metal  music?

Yeah of course. I listen to regular, classic heavy metal like Priest, Dio, Ozzy. As far as non-metal I’d have to say Sarah Brightman.

10.Besides   music  we are  big  movie  fans  do  you  enjoy  watching  movies?  What  are  some  of your   all-time  favorite   movies?

Super into horror movies like Cannibal Holocaust, Evil Dead, and I also love Meet the Feebles.

11. Who  are  some  of your   favorite   actors  and  actresses?

Jack Nicholson comes to mind. And for comedy, Jack Black.

12.When  not  working  on  music  or  band  business  what do you enjoy doing  in your  free time?

There’s a song I wrote called Sex, Satan, and Beer. That covers most of it.

13.Thank  you  for  taking  the   time  to  fill  this   interview  out. Do  you  have   any  final  comments  for  the  readers?
