Ancient Visionz Radio is back tomorrow with thrashers Skurk! We shall be chatting about their music, thrash, metal, and much more!

UK: 8pm

Europe: 9pm CET

US: 3pm EST (US)

There is no chat room for the show. Due to the tendency for people to behave disruptively in chat rooms, it is something that we do not wish to explore with Ancient Visionz Talk Radio. This ensures a smooth interview, and allows integrity and respect for the artist.

Please note, I'm 100 % DIY, and am not in a studio, sometimes technical problems happen that can not be avoided, which means cutting to a music break and restarting the call. Please be patient if Skynet decides to invade the show.

The show is recorded and will be made available as a podcast

Before reading the full post, I've pasted the FAQS at both the start and the end to make it very clear that I'm not stopping Ancient Visionz, or stopping regular metal/punk radio shows. Peace. 1.

I'm not stopping Ancient Visionz, it is now a chat radio show for interviews and discussions on music and movies.

I'm not stopping regular metal/punk radio shows.

The Wastelands is now the regular punk/metal radio show.

Recently, I made the decision to bring back The Wastelands again, but with a new concept and evolution.

The truth is I've missed The Wastelands so much. They were always my favorite shows and they get me pumped up so much. I sat thinking about what I could do different, and what new features to bring to The Wastelands. I took considerable time contemplating ideas for The Wastelands. Then it hit me, something re-born from mixing punk/metal in a musical/story radio format.

The Wastelands is once again my regular music radio show. The Wanderer has returned. The show offers podcasts and live editions. Please respect if I've overloaded with radio interviews on Ancient Visionz, then The Wastelands will compensate with a podcast. The show shall not be off air in any sense or on hiatus. All this means, sometimes a podcast is provided if I cannot do the show live for one week, due to on air interviews with Ancient Visionz.

The Wastelands is an open and diverse show featuring punk/hc/metal with other underground music genres and content. So expect;

Punk/HC: Grindcore, Crust Grind, Fastcore, Crust, D-Beat, HC, NYHC, HC Punk, Metallic HC, Celtic Punk, Underground Punk Rock, Crossover Thrash, Raw Punk, and Stenchcore.

Metal Punk: Death Crust, Death Punk, Metal Punk, Punk Based Metal, Punk Based Old School DM.

Metal: Death Metal, Brutal DM, Slam, Death Grind, Old School DM, Thrash, Doom, Desert Rock, Sludge, Stoner Rock, Traditional Heavy Metal, Underground Hard Rock, and Blues.

Please read concerning below, real hip hop is nothing like, or sounds the same as the mainstream TV/FM radio garbage. That is not hip hop. If the below flows with a theme or concept for an episode of The Wastelands, then I'll mix it in. A track or a few tracks will not harm anyone.

Underground Hip Hop: HC Hip Hop, Conscious Hip Hop, and Boom Bap. Usually more hc, darker tracks. Softer flows, if it fits a concept/idea or story for a particular edition of theme within The Wastelands. The Wastelands is concept/story mixed with a regular radio show format. So it depends when underground hip hop is mixed in, but no mainstream/mumble, trap rap at all!

Other stuff: Narrated pieces/tracks that flow with story from friends in all scenes.

Skits: Usually comedy/silly skits. They will always be a part of the show.

So, another reminder about Ancient Visionz and The Wastelands.

Ancient Visionz: Is now for on air interviews. The site does all the usual promo/reviews etc as well.

The Wastelands: Is now the punk/metal radio show. Think of the old punk/metal show, well its back.

I'm not stopping Ancient Visionz, it is now a chat radio show for interviews and discussions on music and movies.

I'm not stopping regular metal/punk radio shows.

The Wastelands is now the regular punk/metal radio show.

I want to thank the bands and PR companies for their support with the on air interviews. They have overtaken all aspects of Ancient Visionz, which is why there hasn't been a regular edition of Ancient Visionz Metal Radio for a number of weeks.

However, the interviews ran as episodes of Ancient Visionz Metal Radio. The majority of guests are from metal the community, and have been featured many times on my various shows. Ancient Visionz was not on hold, but very active.

The on air interviews continue to gather pace with guests filling up slots for the remainder of September/October, and I'm halfway through locking out November.

It is one of the best methods to help people, and so I announce a few decisions relating to Ancient Visionz and The Wastelands. I'm not stopping regular music radio shows, but they are now going to be a part of The Wastelands (please go here and read this post). I repeat, I'm not stopping regular music radio shows, they are now part of The Wastelands, and run as Wastelands Radio. (

However, returning back to Ancient Visionz. From this moment forward, Ancient Visionz Metal Radio is now simply; Ancient Visionz Radio. It is an interview show open to:

Metal: Most genres.

Punk/HC: Most genres.

Underground Hip Hop: Strictly underground/real hip hop only. No trap, mainstream rap of any kind, which is not real hip hop.

Movies: Indie film and fellow movie nerds.

Comics: Indie comics, comics, fellow comic book nerds.

Other stuff: If we think something can work for a topic, then we will do it. Whether chatting about the X-Games, history, TV series, or general areas of interest.

Ancient Visionz Radio interview with Chicago Death Metalers Mordatorium. Topics included: Mordatorium's music, metal, song writing, writing music, recording music, touring, underground metal, underground music, movies, gaming, history, Chicago metal scene, and much more!

The Waste Wanderer has returned to The Wastelands! Below is the information taken from the new Wastelands site. It is something different to Ancient Visionz, but if you enjoy hc punk and real hip hop (no mainstream pop rap), and a themed Mad Max world, then explore the new site at the link below:

Welcome to the new relaunch of The Wastelands. I'm stoked to bring back the show, which has been on hiatus for some time. The Wastelands has taken its theme and developed it much further into a full concept based radio show. The Wastelands fuses together the story of The Waste Wanderer mixed the usual regular format. Sometimes, underground hip hop is inserted into the show if it has a dark hc edge, or can match the atmosphere of The Wastelands. It is obvious where I draw my influences from with the site's appearance. My favorite video games are Fallout 3 & 4, and Mad Max Fury Road was one of the best action movies to hit theaters in recent years.

A large portion of the time, I'll be writing in character on the site as The Waste Wanderer. I'll be sharing stories and content that shall also be poorly narrated on the show (laughs). For those who do not know anything about The Wastelands Radio, it was a punk/hc show that I hosted on Brutal Existence Radio, which was an evolution from many of my former punk/metal radio shows. I felt the time was right to launch a separate site for The Wastelands to give it a distinct identity from Ancient Visionz, which is my metal site.

The current plans are to release The Wastelands as a podcast, but I may return the show to a live basis in the future.

My activity has been fairly quiet on Ancient Visionz for the past week. The on air interviews are picking up pace, which means it has proven difficult to repost EPKS, write reviews/interviews, and host live editions of Ancient Visionz Metal Radio. It is that same problem, when you do everything DIY, which is trying to cover all areas, and finding reliable trust worthy people is hard, especially when you are not a major site with an unlimited budget.

Patrick helps with what he can, but he also runs 2 of his own sites, so he is also spread thin.

Radio interviews are with me on Ancient Visionz Radio.

Written interviews are forwarded to Patrick if he has the time to do them.

When time permits, reviews will not change with what I cover, but please appreciate and respect that I also run The Wastelands site, 2 radio shows, and am studying at school. There is only Patrick helping with what he is able, so please respect I need to prioritise at certain periods.

Ancient Visionz Metal Radio:
It hasn't aired much recently due to the on air interviews with the chat show. Ancient Visionz Metal Radio airs live episodes when no interviews are booked, but I may upload a few podcast editions to compensate. The chat show is starting to become our main show, and the feedback from the bands and PR companies has been awesome.

Interview with From North done by Patrick posted on 9-17-17

Interview  with  From North  done  by  Patrick
1.Hello  please  introduce yourselves  to  the  readers?
Hey there! We’re From North, a five piece metal band from the Swedish west coast, influenced, both musically and literally, by the Vikings and their way of life.
The music is strong, big and melodic with vocals shifting between aggressive growl to clean. Complete with medieval instruments and powerful choirs!

2.At  what  age  did you  become  interested  in  playing and  writing  music?
I think it’s pretty common for all of us that we’ve played and contributed to the music we love for most of our lives. Either you write the music, words and melodies, or if you contribute with your style of playing and your soul, you are equally a part of it all.
3.When  did you  first  meet  the  other  members  of  the  band? And  how  did you  all pick  From North  as the name of the  band does it  have  a special  meaning?
Håkan (singer) and Mattias (guitar) are both living in the same city and have played together for several years. The other members, Janne (guitar), Mikael (Bass) and Robin (drums) are scattered around the nearby areas. Word spreads about good musicians, and sometime around winter 2016 we were a complete band.
We are from the northern parts of the world, therefore the name!
4. What is the current line-up  of the  band? For  the  readers  who  have never  heard  From North  who  would you  say  are the  bands biggest  influences?
Håkan Johansson (Vocals), Mattias Svensson (Guitars), Janne Lüthje (Guitars, Lead), Mikael Nilsson (Bass) and Robin Hermansson (Drums). We are influenced by band such as Sabbath, Rammstein, Slayer, Thin Lizzy, Dream Theater…
5.From North's self-titled debut will  be released  through  Downfall Rec. how  did you come  in  contact  with this  label?
We sent them a copy of our demo, and they contacted us. It turned out to be a great match there between the band and DF!
6.How  long  did  it  take  to  write  the  music  for  the  debut  release?
Håkan has been working on writing the music for over a year. Finding the right musicians for the band and recording everything took even longer. But now that From North are complete as a band, the next one is already in the making.
7.Who  usually  takes  care of  writing the  lyrics  and  what  are  some  subjects  the  band  writes  about?
On this record all the lyrics are written by a guy named Andreas Lindvall who have a big interest in the Scandinavian history and mythology. His narrative style just fitted the music well. The lyrics are a mix of historical events, tales about the old Gods, and stories from the life of people living these days.
8.Besides  the  self-titled  debut  release does  the  band  have  any  other  merchandise  available for the readers to  buy? If  yes  what  is  available and where can the readers  buy  it?
There certainly is! Aside the CD (and soon hopefully vinyl) we have T-shirts, pins, stickers and a lot of good looking stuff! If you gonna have just one cool band-logo on your jacket, you’re definitely wanna have From North’s!

9.Has   From North  played  live  yet  or do you  prefer  working  in the  studio? Who  are  some  bands you  have  shared  the  stage  with?
We have our first show in October here in Gothenburg, then we start looking for gigs and festivals, so hopefully we will have the pleasure to meet many fans in 2018!
10.Are  their  any  upcoming shows  or tours  the  readers  should  watch  out  for?
Keep your eyes and ears open, and most of all, check our website and FB for further info!

11. From North  comes  out  of  Sweden's  Viking  death metal scene what  is your  opinion  of  the  Swedish  death metal scene  over the years? I would rather say that we come from a mixture of the myriad of Swedish sub-scenes: from DM, Viking-BM, Power Metal and Doom-scenes amongst others. Sweden is producing so much kick ass metal and hard rock and it´s great to be a part of it! When it comes to Death metal; maybe only USDM can stand alongside the rows of legends from the Swedish scene… Recent years retro trend with bands like Vampire, Tribulation, Entrails and Morbus Chron, brings up the rotten old School again which is nice. But you can never go wrong with the old albums.
12.Who  are your  all-time  favorite  Swedish bands? And  are  their  any  new  bands  you feel  the  readers  should  watch  out  for? I
personally have to give the horns to up and coming Gothenburg Speed Metal-heads Armory, with members from Irrbloss: and Black Metal band Nekrokraft.

13.When  not  working  on  new music or  band  business  what do you  enjoy  doing  in your  free  time?
We are simple men: Give us some 70s muscle cars, motorcycles, the northern nature with fjords, forests and fishing rivers, some music equipment to play on, good beer and mead to drink, some “pulled moose” with summer potatoes, our beautiful women and good friends to  shout “Skål” with, and we will call it a good day!
14,Thank  you  for  taking  the time  to  fill  this  interview  out  do you have  any  final  words  for the  readers?
Keep calm and listen to metal! (With a big amount of From North!)
See you!
/From North

Ancient Visionz Radio returns today with another interview featuring Swedish thrashers Pagandom. We will be chatting about Pagandom's latest release, tours, thrash metal, and much more!

Show times: 2pm EST (US)/7pm UK/8pm CET on

There is no chat room for the show. Due to the tendency for people to behave disruptively in chat rooms, it is something that we do not wish to explore with Ancient Visionz Talk Radio. This ensures a smooth interview, and allows integrity and respect for the artist.

Please note, I'm 100 % DIY, and am not in a studio, sometimes technical problems happen that can not be avoided, which means cutting to a music break and restarting the call. Please be patient if Skynet decides to invade the show.

The show is recorded and will be made available as a podcast.

1. Hello how  are things going in France  these  days? Please  introduce  yourself to  the  readers?

1/Hi everybody, my name is Dave Chaigne, I sing and play guitar in Savage Annihilation. Things are doing pretty well : new president, new riot. Ha ha !

2.Savage  Annihilation  formed in  2002 what  gave you  all the  idea  to  start  this  band? And  who  would  you say  the  bands  biggest  influences  are?

2/My brother Mike (drums) and I play metal since 1996, when I was 11 and mike 9 years old. At this time, the band we had played a mix of heavy and thrash metal with a lot of hard rocks influences, nothing really brutal.

In 2001, our line-up changed and the new bassist/singer suggest to play something more death metal oriented. A thing we did in 2002. It's a music style we knew for years. Death, Obituary and Deicide are the first band we listened to but we didn't have the skills nor the instruments adapted for this music, like a real growling voice  we couldn't manage to do cause we were too young.

3.the  bands  second  release Quand S' Abaisse La  Croix Du  Blaspheme  is being  released   through  Xenokorp  Rec. how  did you and the band  come in  contact  with this  label?

3/ We should released our second album mon Kaotoxin rec., the label that released our first album "Cannibalisme, Hérésie et Autres Sauvageries", but for serious health reasons, The label manager had to stop his activities. So we looked for another label and we found Xenokorp which offer us to release it.

4.How  long  did  it  take  the  band  to  write  the music for this  release?

4/ 5 years separate the 2 albums, but we didn't take all this time to compose it. Our past bass player Aara decided to leave the band in 2014. He has been replaced by Benoit « Bono »Jean right away who had to learn the new and older songs, as the live set-lists. He did a huge work, we wanted him to be on ease to record the album and he did a great job, as on the record and on stage.

Our  timetable don't let us to see each others as we want so all these reasons did we couldn't release the album sooner. But it let us work more and try some new things.

5.Besides  Quand S' Abaisse La  Croix Du  Blaspheme  does  the band  have  any  copies  of the  debut  still  available?Besides physical releases  does the band have  any  other  merchandise available  for the readers  if yes  what  is  available and  where  can the  readers  buy your  merchandise?

5/ The band don't have anymore. It may left some stuff on Xenokorp's store or on some European distros but I'm not sure. Otherwise, we have two different t-shirts designs including one with our mascot, The Lt Savage. We have caps, hats, patches, pin's and badges you can order directly by writing us on facebook or by mail at this address :

You can also preorder our new album on Xenokorp store. It will be released on 13th October in limited 500 copies Digipack  edition and limited 300 copies vinyl edition in a pack also containing a new album t-shirt design. A nice pack !

6.Does  Savage  Annihilation   play  live  very  often if  yes  what  have  been  some  of the bands most memorable  shows over the  years?

6/Yes, we play live as much as we can. We did an European tour with Avulsed and Mercyless (from Fra) last april, a french tour on may with Lelahell from Algeria and the bros of Corrosive Elements from France.

It's hard to tell which is the most memorable moment but I would say our show when we opened for Dying Fetus last year and the Muscadeath fest show in 2014. It was a true war and great shows for us.

7.Are  their  any  tours or  shows  coming up  in  support  of the  new release? If  yes  where  will the  band  be  playing?

7/ We are preparing a french tour for november. We'll share some dates with the brutal french band Nephren-Ka during this tour which is really cool. We also are booking for next year with more dates to come.

8.Besides  brutal  death metal  do you  or  any of the members  listen  to  any other underground  genres of  music? If  yes  what  are some of your  favorite  bands  and  artists?

8/Yes, we listen a lot of heavy metal, thrash, hardcore black metal hard rock and rock from the 70's, grindcore, 50's rock n' roll, blues, jaz for some of us, funk for others. A lot of various styles but the only one that makes us vibe it's Metal. Nothing is like Metal.

9.Other  then  music  we  are  huge  movie  fans  do you  enjoy  watching  movies? If  yes what  are your  favorite  genres?

9/I'm a great movie fan. I really enjoy most of the genres  as action, comedy, horror and gore, thriller, biopic, mafia and gangs documentaries, kung-fu movies but science-fiction is the genre I prefer, I really dig it !

10.What  are  some  of your  all time   favorite  movies?

10/I don't really know, there's so much ha ha ha ! But if I had to choose, I'll say the Godfather, Metal Hurlant, all three Back to the Future movies, Braindead, Day of the Dead, Dobermann, Alien and Predator. But there's so much more.

11.Who  are  some  of your  favorite  actresses  and  actors?

11/ Al pacino, Tcheky Kairo, charlize theron, mark walhberg  and many more.

12.Besides  working  in  Savage  Annihilation   do you  or  any of the members  currently  play  in  other  bands? If  yes  please  tell the readers a little  about  them?

12/ Yes we all have a side-project. Mike and I play in a grindcore band called Defecal of Gerbe since 2005 and Benoit plays In Squidhead (from Belgium) a Death/indus band and Slave One a technical death metal band.

13.When  not  working   on  new  music or  band  business what  do you  like  doing in your  free time?
13/On my own, I watch a lot of movies, also listen ot a lot of music. I also spend a lot of time with my family and friends. I go to see some live shows. Beside that, I often play guitar not only to work or compose, but just for fun because I love it !

14.Thank you  for  taking the  time to  fill  this  interview  out  do  you  have  any   final words  for the  readers?

14/No problem.  Thanx to you and all the Ancient Visionz staff for this interview. I want to thank all who support us and come to our shows and I invite all those who don't know us yet to discover our music, our universe and Lt Savage's chronicles !

Savage Annihilation
